As I work on character designs, environment designs, storyboards and other artwork with my Cintiq tablet and various programs (Photoshop, ToonBoom Storyboard Pro, Painter, etc), I realzied I needed to gain proficiency in using these tools properly. That is why I enrolled in ILL 333: Digital Paint - to learn how to use my tablet and software to achieve professional-looking results no matter what the artistic goal.
Week 1:
Our main assignment was to familiarize ourselves with the Corel Painter interface, and to create a sketch in that program. I used a "real 2B pencil" brush and default paper texture, and created a line drawing of Vanellope von Schweetz from the movie "Wreck-it Ralph" I intend to go back and "paint" her later.
