Thesis Forum - Spring 2013 with Tim Hodge - week of February 11

Goals:

we talked about character designs, character style, sillouhette values, and Tim gave me some suggestions as to where to go for inspiration.

We also talked about the four sequences I will be boarding over the course of the semester. I will be submitting the scripts in-progress for the sequences so we can further plot out the production schedule.

The focus of my work for this week will be to refine the designs for Sam, Kimi, Maria and Tony. Time permitting I will also work on the four guardian angels. 

Character design work and boarding work will overlap throughout the semester as necessary.

Issues Covered:

simplifying character designs, what type of designs inspire me in general and for this project, the importance of staying on model in storyboards for animation

Goals for next week:

By the end of module 3, I would like to have solid designs for Sam, Kimi, Maria, and Tony, as well as their guardian angels.  I would also like to begin thumbnailing the first of the four storyboard sequences.

I've already begun work on the four kids, and my sketches are attached here.

Between now and my next meeting with Tim I'll have more completed.
